Released with the Renegades DLC, Zealous Ideal is a Solar Heat Auto Rifle that can be farmed from the Equilibrium Dungeon. Sporting many of the perks we’ve come to know and love on auto rifles and solar weapons alike, Zealous is worthy of braving the dungeon. How good is Zealous Ideal

As with most blasters, Zealous Ideal is based on a pre-existing archetype, namely the Precision Auto Rifles in this case. While the base frame isn’t in a great spot, Zealous Ideal’s status as a heat weapon means it can fire for much longer than its non-heat counterpart, which helps offset the lower damage profile. This doesn’t make it exceedingly better than Adaptive and Rapid-Fire autos, but at the very least allows it to contend where others fail to.

In PvP, this has the stats and perks to make it potentially good, but unfortunately, it can’t hold its own in the current meta. If Precision Autos get a buff in PvP, then this will easily be one of the must-haves. Zealous Ideal is A-Tier for PvE and B-tier for PvP.

Zealous Ideal Perks and God Rolls

The Zealous Ideal Solar Heat Auto Rifle can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Cooling Baubles, Delicate Tuning, Heal Clip, Zen Moment, Gutshot Straight, Attrition Orbs, Dynamic Sway Reduction.
• Perk 2: Thermal Atomization, Onslaught, Adagio, One For All, Tap the Trigger, Burning Ambition, Incandescent.
• Origin Trait: Imperial Allegiance.

To start us off, let’s give some much-needed love to the handling and stability stats through Fluted Barrel, and up the damage ever so slightly through Overclocked Heatsink. A Cooling Efficiency Masterwork will help offset the battery’s impact to said stat.

Perk 1 has only really two PvE options, but with those being Heal Clip or Attrition Orbs, who can complain? A fun fact about Heal Clip is that it will activate the moment you start the venting process, meaning you won’t need to wait for the whole animation to get healed. As for Perk 2, we’ve got a lot more options, but Incandescent or Onslaught are arguably your best choices, with Burning Ambition as a very solid alternative Solar option. Incandescent is a staple on Solar weapons at this point, and Onslaught’s fire rate bonus turns it into a blindingly fast blaster.

Zealous Ideal PvP god rolls

Compared to most other Precision Autos, Zealous Ideal has very solid stats all around, with the main drawback being handling. However, it’s not so bad that we have to put much of anything into it, so we’ll be going with Chambered Compensator and Projection Fuse to boost our range, stability, and recoil.

PvP-wise, Perk 1 is rather stacked. It not only has Dynamic Sway Reduction and Zen Moment, but a newcomer to the pool called Delicate Tuning. This grants boosts to range, handling, and accuracy while the weapon is at low heat, which in turn gives you a significant advantage on the opening attack. Perk 2, on the other hand, is somewhat lacking for PvP, but Tap the Trigger and Onslaught are two historically powerful perks on Precision Autos, so it’s safe to assume the same will hold here.
