How good is High Tyrant
High Tyrant is currently the only Pulse Rifle in the Balanced Heat Weapon archetype, and not only that, it carries the best Void weapon perks in the current sandbox. No slouch in PvP either, with perk combinations that complement the god roll perfectly to be a menace to all Guardians it comes across in the arena.
This Pulse Rifle is heavily Void-focused, but that does not mean you have to be on a Void build to get the most out of it. Perks such as Destabilizing Rounds, Withering Gaz,e and Demoralize can all be used to great effect in low to high tiers of content, making High Tyrant a quality weapon to chase down. High Tyrant is A-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

High Tyrant PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Light Heatsink |
| Perk 1 | Destabilizing Rounds (also good: Repulsor Brace, Delicate Tuning) |
| Perk 2 | Demoralize (also good: Meganeura, Frenzy) |
| Masterwork | Cooling Efficiency |
| Origin Trait | Imperial Allegiance |
High Tyrant comes out of the box with good stats in the right places, but it needs a leg up on its Handling. This god roll gets the most out of its perk synergy and enhances the weapon in all the right places.
Start with Fluted Barrel and Light Heatsink, with the idea that the immediate +25 will help take the weight off the weapon and give it the light and snappy feel a fast-firing Pulse Rifle needs to feel most satisfying in a gun fight.
The main perks combine excellently to apply Weaken and Volatile to opponents, and that comes in the form of Destabilizing Rounds and Demoralize. Destabilzing Rounds causes an explosion on kill, which makes nearby enemies Volatile, while Demorazile rewards precision kills with Weaken. This increases damage from all sources by 15%, which is an excellent debuff to have in the pocket for a simple way to apply.
High Tyrant PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
| Magazine | Projection Fuse |
| Perk 1 | Rapid Hit |
| Perk 2 | Headseeker (also good: Master of Arms) |
| Masterwork | Range |
| Origin Trait | Imperial Allegiance |
The first Balanced Heat Weapon makes its way into The Crucible and gives a great introduction with this PvP god roll.
Arrowhead Brake is needed here to bring the Recoil under control, which makes repeat bursts easy to keep on target during a gunfight. Projection Fuse then comes in for added Range, helping High Tyrant lockdown longer sight-lines with its fast-firing rounds.
Rapid Hit and Headseeker is an old but reliable combination when it comes to The Crucible and works to great effect on this archetype. Rapid Hit adds Stability and Reload Speed while Headseeker increases damage and Aim Assist for any shot south of a headshot, making for a deadly combination which only increases High Tyrant’s potency in the thick of battle. Master of Arms is an alternative for Headseeker, as the damage can be increased from other weapons or abilities, which can easily take opponents off guard.
