Destiny 2 Timeworn Wayfarer: God Rolls & How to get it

by | Jun 23, 2024

The Final Shape has been out for a couple of weeks now, and players are still digging their way through the various new items and weapon rolls waiting to be discovered. Especially in the case of Episode: Echoes loot, some Guardians seem to be struggling to figure out what weapons are actually worth farming.

Today, we’ll clear some of that up as we dive deep into one of the stronger weapons in the Echoes loot pool: Timeworn Wayfarer.

Chapters

How good is Timeworn Wayfarer

Scout rifles have been a historically unpopular pick in most areas of the game, but Timeworn Wayfarer does its best to break out of the mold.

In both PvE and PvP, Timeworn Wayfarer’s frame alone makes it a more viable option. It also makes the weapon relatively unique, being one of four options currently in the archetype.

In addition to the above, Timeworn Wayfarer has a solid list of perks on its side. From novel options that create never-before-seen synergies to classics that offer passive stat buffs in The Crucible, this scout rifle has a little something for everyone.

Timeworn Wayfarer PvE god rolls

PvE Roll: All-Around
Barrel Fluted Barrel
Magazine Tactical Mag
Perk 1 Heal Clip (also good: Shoot to Loot)
Perk 2 Incandescent (also good: Precision Instrument)
Masterwork Handling or Reload Speed

Fluted Barrel, Tactical Mag, and a handling masterwork will start us off with a solid sweep of stat buffs, although the masterwork can be swapped for reload speed if you prefer.

Heal Clip is the star of the show here, providing its bonus even if you only reload one bullet into the magazine. In the final column, Incandescent is an easy pairing for Solar builds. However, Precision Instrument is a great replacement if you’re looking for something more generic.

Recommended Loadout: Izanagi’s Burden, Timeworn Wayfarer, Apex Predator.

Timeworn Wayfarer PvP god rolls

PvP Roll: All-Around
Barrel Chambered Compensator (also good: Arrowhead Brake)
Magazine Steady Rounds
Perk 1 Keep Away (also good: Heal Clip)
Perk 2 Eye of the Storm (also good: Opening Shot)
Masterwork Stability

Chambered Compensator, Steady Rounds, and a stability masterwork all work together to grant Timeworn Wayfarer additional stability, which is the main thing the base stat package is lacking. Keep Away is easy to trigger here and provides a nice suite of buffs, making it our pick for perk one. However, due to its novelty (and because of its practical strength), Heal Clip is a close second as well.

For the final perk, our choice is Eye of the Storm. While Opening Shot is another great option, the range it grants isn’t necessary given the weapon’s base stats, so you’ll likely find more use in Eye of the Storm’s accuracy buffs.
