Destiny 2 Sightline Survey: God Rolls & How to get it

Now that Episode: Echoes has been around for a bit, players have become familiar with all of the new loot available. And while we know additional weapons are soon to come with Acts 2 and 3 of the episode, experienced Guardians now have a solid handle on which weapons are actually worth farming.

Today, we’ll be taking a look at one of the more popular options this episode offers: Sightline Survey. Let’s dive in.

How good is Sightline Survey

While precision frame hand cannons are notoriously disliked (especially in PvE), Sightline Survey is arguably the best of the bunch, offering solid perk options that solidify its niche place in the meta.

With popular perks like Voltshot available in both main columns, Sightline Survey is a great PvE pick for the few 180 RPM hand cannon lovers out there. While it’s hard to recommend beyond that since other options like Posterity exist (which has Voltshot in the third column, not fourth), there’s definitely room for this weapon to shine, and we’d recommend giving it a shot if you haven’t already.

Sightline Survey also shines in The Crucible, where its solid perk pool carries it to have a solid standing in today’s meta. With the ability to 3-tap Guardians of any resilience level, Sightline is a monster when in an experienced player’s hands. Regardless, the weapon isn’t meta-shifting, making it not a must-have unless you’re a fan of precision frame hand cannons.

Sightline Survey Perks and God Rolls

The Sightline Survey hand cannon can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Strategist, To the Pain, Enlightened Action, Air Trigger, Fragile Focus, Triple Tap, Keep Away.
• Perk 2: Eye of the Storm, Desperate Measures, Encore, Precision Instrument, Opening Shot, Kill Clip, Voltshot.
• Origin Trait: Radiolaria Transposer.

As is standard for most PvE god rolls, handling is the most important stat here; as a result, we’ll look for Fluted Barrel and a handling masterwork. For the magazine, Appended Mag is great since extra reload speed isn’t necessary, given our other perk choices.

For main perks, Enlightened Action and Voltshot is the go-to combination here. Nothing else shines through in PvE, but this combo alone is enough to make the weapon relatively enticing compared to its competition.

Recommended Loadout: Izanagi’s Burden, Sightline Survey, Song of Ir Yût.

As for PvP, our main focus is range. As a result, we’ll opt for Extended Barrel, Accurized Rounds, and a range masterwork. 

Keep Away and Fragile Focus are our two big choices for the first primary perk; we prefer the former for its consistent +10 range bonus, but Fragile Focus’ inconsistent +20 range may be more appealing to some. For our final perk, Kill Clip is the obvious choice, allowing for the weapon to 3-tap Guardians at any resilience. However, Precision Instrument is also worth mentioning, which 3-taps Guardians in the lower half of resilience levels without the inconsistencies of requiring a kill.

How to get Sightline Survey

Sightline Survey is one of several legendary weapons tied to Act 1 of Episode: Echoes. You can acquire this weapon by:

• Completing the seasonal activity, Breach Executable on Nessus
• Decoding Echoes engrams at the H.E.L.M. for four Echo Engrams and 3,000 Glimmer
• Increasing your reputation with Failsafe
