Destiny 2 Posterity: God Rolls & How to get it

by | May 9, 2024

Since the launch of Deep Stone Crypt, Posterity has been a stand-out weapon. Now part of Pantheon, Posperity has never been this popular. Arguably the best of the 180 RPM Hand Cannon Family, Posterity is a quality weapon well suited for any Guardian loadout.

How good is Posterity?

Posterity is one the most versatile of the 180 RPM Hand Cannons. With powerful perks for PvE, Posterity is ideal for Arc builds. And with a more PvP-focused roll, Posterity can be extremely potent in the Crucible, too.

With Posterity being craftable, it also has the chance to gain enhanced perks, giving it even more power.

Posterity PvE god rolls

PvE Roll: All-Around
Barrel Fluted Barrel
Magazine Tactical Mag
Perk 1 Voltshot (also good: Reconstruction)
Perk 2 Frenzy (also good: Rampage)
Masterwork Handling or Range

Start with Fluted Barrel for a large boost to Handling, enhancing that fast and snappy feel of Posterity. Tactical Mag then enhances Stability and adds some extra shots to the Magazine, keeping you in the fight for longer.

Voltshot then comes in to give Posterity a powerful edge. Voltshot rewards reloading after a kill with a powerful chained lightning blast, which can tear through groups of enemies easily. The perfect close here is then Frenzy, which not only adds a 15% damage bonus, it also maxes out Reload speed, which makes this combination with Voltshot incredibly fun but, more importantly, deadly to any enemy that lands in its sights.

Posterity PvP god rolls

PvE Roll: All-Around
Barrel Hammer Forged Rifling
Magazine Accurized Rounds
Perk 1 Killing Wind (also good: Rapid Hit)
Perk 2 Rampage (also good: Opening Shot)
Masterwork Handling or Range

Posterity, being a 180 RPM, does have drawbacks in terms of power and how it competes with other Hand Cannons such as 120 RPM, but Posterity can do some work when playing to its strengths.

Look to maximize Range by combining Hammer Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds for a solid +20, this gives Posterity a great base to build on. Add in Killing Wind, which rewards kills with even more Range with bonus Handling, and round off with Rampage, which adds a stacking bonus to damage. At x3, Rampage adds a 33% damage buff allowing it to do serious damage to opponents in the Crucible.

How to get Posterity

Prosperity is obtainable from the third encounter, Rapture, of the Deep Stone Crypt raid. Note that it can be infinitely farmed when Deep Stone Crypt is the weekly featured Raid.

Prosperity can also be obtained from Bungie’s new PvE endgame mode, Pantheon, as a random reward for defeating any boss in the rotation. We cover all Pantheon Rewards here.
